Comprehensive Project Management & Creative Innovation

MONKEE BUSINESS was the primary agency driving the end-to-end project management, site logistics, and operational execution frameworks for this landmark cultural festival.

Beyond structural operations, Co-Founder & Director Sylvester Sim boldly challenged creative boundaries by conceptualizing and directing an innovative, high-energy Fusion Rock x Opera headline segment. Despite navigating initial friction and structural obstacles due to the traditional mindsets of organizers, Sylvester's groundbreaking performance broke through convention—capturing widespread critical praise, immense crowd enthusiasm, and heavy compliments for its seamless execution. It remains a definitive case study in how our leadership successfully transforms traditional heritage frameworks into modern, high-impact entertainment realities.

Project Case Study & Overview

Commissioned by the Chinatown Business Association (CBA) and supported by the Singapore Tourism Board (STB), the inaugural Chinatown Opera Festival 2019 debuted as the district's first-ever dedicated heritage opera festival. • Multi-Dialect Production Logistics: Supervised complex staging requirements for Cantonese, Hainanese, Hokkien, Teochew, and Peking opera showcases, incorporating seamless dual-language English and Chinese subtitles.

  • Interactive Fringe Integration: Curated structural community engagement zones, including water sleeve demonstrations, traditional face-changing showcases, weapons exhibitions, retro game stalls, and immersive photo booths.
